Lead Engineer - AI-Powered Government Contracting Platform

About Us

We are building the leading expert intelligence platform for government contracting. Our platform uses AI and LLMs to unlock insights from government solicitations and connect contractors with the right expertise at the right time. Already trusted by GovCon leaders, we are scaling rapidly into a $100B+ market.

We’re looking for a Lead Engineer to take ownership of core systems, set architectural direction, and be the foundation of our future engineering team. This is a chance to build not just a product, but an industry-defining technology.

The Role

As Lead Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling the next generation of our expert intelligence platform. You’ll work closely with the CEO and founding team and early customers to bring new capabilities to market. This is a highly hands-on role where you’ll code daily, make critical architecture decisions, and help build the engineering culture from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design and development of LLM-powered systems for expert matching and solicitation intelligence (OpenAI)
  • Manage our growing vector-backed indexes of experts and solicitations, and the search algorithms that connect them (OpenSearch, PGVector, Go)
  • Launch products that accelerate talent mobility by graphing knowledge at the individual work experience level
  • Lead design and development of core SaaS platform and API features (Python, Go, React)
  • Define architecture and set engineering best practices for a growing team
  • Collaborate directly with product and leadership to ship features quickly and iteratively
  • Balance “startup speed” with long-term needs like security, compliance, and scalability
  • Mentor future hires and help shape the engineering organization

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience developing with LLMs, LLM orchestration, vector search, and/or AI-first product development
  • Proven experience shipping software in Python, React, and AWS environments
  • Startup experience — able to thrive with ambiguity, iterate quickly, and wear many hats
  • Strong architectural skills, balancing near-term execution with long-term scalability
  • Mission-driven, hungry, and eager to own outcomes
  • Comfortable engaging on data security/compliance topics (CMMC/FedRAMP/SOC2 familiarity a plus, not required)

Why Join

  • Impact – Your work will directly shape how $100B+ in federal contracting decisions get made
  • Equity upside – Meaningful ownership stake
  • Growth path – Early opportunity to step into a leadership role as we expand the team
  • Mission – Build AI-first technology that modernizes how government and industry collaborate
